I have made many successful characters in my career as an artist. None of my character have ever made as much an impression on me and I believe has so much potential as a reoccurring character and has been in so much of my paintings as Blimpboy. I have sold paintings of Blimpboy ranging from $350 to $550 and I am still revisiting that character and it is still selling well. I have started the Adventures of Blimpboy in the year 2004 and Blimpboy has never left my mind. I have ideas of writing a children’s book of the Adventures of Blimpboy. I had a main art gallery show in the first Lowbrow Art gallery, La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Hollywood, the year 2004. Of course, the show was named Adventures of Blimpboy. Here is a link to my paintings, which also has a section of the Adventures of Blimpboy. Carl Lozada Art, including Blimpboy
You can also see my latest work, which also has a painting of “Blimboy Meets Flowergirl” through this link: Wandering Minstrels. This painting sold for $550.00 at the Venice Art Auction, which I am very proud of, even though it was hard to part from this painting. Good Day
I have two loves in my life. First is my very special daughter and next I have a love for creating. I have had this passion ever since I was a little child, when I sowed my mother a elephant stuffed animal out of fabric scraps. I have always been either drawing or painting since I was a child. When I was in middle school I painted a big wave surfer in art class. My teacher entered it in an art competition and I won second prize. It was so good that my teacher enrolled me into a summer art school. I love inventing things, sculpture, painting, drawing and anything to do with art. I really don’t think that I will ever make a lot of money. Some times you just have to do what you enjoy doing and not care what kudos you can make from it. Simply, I can create and that was what god meant me to do.
That is why I produced Manta Ray Apparel. Actually, it originated in a dream I had. I dreamt that I was back in Art Center College Design School and my theme project was a line of fashion wear with the image of a Manta Ray. From then on, my dream was born. I am not sure where this adventure will take me. I am just along for the ride. Thanks and god bless.
